Biography

John
Wyrosdick

I have always been a visual person.

A decade ago, when I was laid off from my comfy but going nowhere job in warehousing, I decided to take the plunge and learn about design and multimedia. My priorities and schedule dictated that I would have to attend a trade/tech school and I chose Platt College in Ontario, California. The design courses exposed me to the basics and got me very excited. The multimedia courses provided just enough know-how to get me working.

After a short season of freelancing as a web graphics designer and video editing instructor, I landed a job creating 3D animations for Bert L. Howe & Associates, Inc., a construction consulting company in Anaheim, California. I enjoyed seven years of employment with Bert and developed a real knack for taking abstract concepts and making them visually accessible to laymen.

In late 2005 my wife and I got an itch to get our kids out of California. After a little deliberation we decided Tennessee was our new target. 18 months later, we arrived here in our new home. As a father, I have found the transition very easy. As a professional designer/digital artist I have found the transition a bit more difficult.

At present I am getting as many irons in the fire as possible. I am also getting back into some of my “forgotten” areas of interest and aptitude like web design and new media.
