Barking at Old Media

Tom Cheredar's picture

At the panel session “Where the Big Dogs Go,” leaders of traditional* media will discuss their future plans and aspirations to utilize technology. Representatives from The Tennessean, Comcast, Clear Channel and WKRN ABC-TV (channel deuce) will participate in the session that is moderated by Bayard Saunders.

“Hear and see what is on the horizon for the media giants - plans, announcements and demos - and how they involve the local digital community as we reinvent the world,” Bayard describes in his session proposal.

While the session intends to open up a dialog with the technology community, it lacks actual participation of “big dogs” such as Labradors, Retrievers, Great Danes or any other variety of large canine breeds.

He looked at me funny when I said “paypal” and then begged for a demonstration of how I could purchase things using just my cell phone. Sadly, I could not oblige using the Edge network on my iPhone.
