Session Creation is Now Open!

Fall is quickly approaching and that means it’s time to begin preparing your session for BarCamp Nashville 2011. We have an extremely technologically talented and knowledgeable community in Nashville and Middle Tennessee, #bcn11 gives us the opportunity to come together, share our knowledge and network with others in the area. The support of you is what makes it so great and the amazing sessions are what make this a can’t miss event in Nashville.

The last few years have seen amazing growth at our Nashville-based Camps and, because of that, we have found ourselves with more people volunteering to prepare sessions than we have space and time for. When session creation opened last year, the grid filled much faster than anyone anticipated and we’ve worked hard to come up with a solution that provides a fair playing field for anyone wishing to present at BarCamp Nashville.

In trying to keep with the spirit of BarCamp, this is how we’re handling Session Creation for BCN11:

  1. Session Creation is now open
  2. Session Creation will close September 19, 8pm
  3. Your session profile MUST contain the following items:
    • A title (naturally)
    • An informative description of what your proposed session will be
    • A choice of session format (Case Study, Hands-On, In-Depth, Introductory, or Panel/Discussion)
    • A choice of session category (Code, Content, Design or Gear).

Until all of those items are filled out, the session profile is not complete and will not be accepted into the selection system. (You can save your session as a "draft" and come back to it later.)

ONLY ONE SESSION MAY BE CREATED PER BCN WEBSITE USER. We reserve the right to weed out duplicates and spam accounts.

The randomly drawn sessions will be posted on www.barcampnashville.org, where users can sign up for the sessions. We will use the sign-up data to determine session times and locations within Cadillac Ranch, and the final schedule will be released online on Thursday, October 6.
